Samanvay

Samanvay 2011 today is brought to you by our joint family where we have the youngest member as ( Name of youngest student ) and ( Name ) as the eldest member. We have Parents and Spouses of these members. We also have patrons of Art with us who are amongst us here and some due to their preoccupation have not been able to make it. We also have with us the most humble member of this family, Shri Rakesh Nai, who is used to being addressed as Rakesh Sir. This was a bried introduction of our Samanvay family as it stands on its sixth annual pledge.

Music, when enjoyed by an individual is ecstasy. The same ecstasy when shared with more people becomes rage. This rage when applauded, critiqued, followed becomes a cult. Our young musicians here who are at present at the initial stages of their learning curve need hand holding through the peak of this curve. They need to be exposed to all the aspects of music. This helps them develop a vision of music, where they are able to see the beauty of a rainbow when we have acclaimed artists like Ustaad Akram Khan perform in true spirit of music. Samanvay is an effort to expose these young minds to the broad spectrum of music, in its full body form.

Samanvay 2006 was a step towards this carnival of dreams. Samanvay 2007 was the next step where we had an outing together at the Amphitheatre, Kamatibaug. Great visionaries of Baroda created spaces which inspire people. So Samanvay 2008 moved to the university campus and was celebrated at the CC Mehta Auditorium, MS University. We had Shri Pushkar ( Full name ) inspiring the Samanvay family.

Samanvay 2009 had the family expanding and the motivation to have Shri Bhavanishankarji inspire the students was much applauded.

Samanvay 2010 caught the attention of more people and we were delighted to add more people from the industries fraternity. His highness Shri Ranjitsinghji also graced the occasion and we saw a Dialogue of music between him and Pandit Anindo Chaterjee.

As they say, the proof of the pudding is in eating it ! My 10 year old son asked Rakesh Sir an innocent but deep question, What do I have to do to be called a Pandit This, to me is the essence of Samanvay.

We also learnt to chant Music Mantra for mankind Music that is an expression of emotions, which bonds to heal ailments, which cures depression, which leads you through the fairways of life, which also teaches you celebration of life. Apart from being a scientifically proven truth that music augments healing, it also sends a flutter through your heart. It's a competition to pace makers and complements peacemakers.
